Indy civic leaders to visit Grissom

  • Published
A group of 25 civic leaders from Indianapolis, Ind., are set to visit the base tomorrow as part of the 434th Air Refueling Wing's community outreach program.  During their visit to Grissom, the civic leaders will receive a first-hand look at the wing's aerial refueling mission by participating in a KC-135R Stratotanker flight.

"The visit by the Indianapolis civic leasers is another in a series of special outreach activities," said Lt. Col. Gary Lockard, chief of public affairs.  "Many civic and community leaders, especially those who do not reside in the area adjacent to Grissom, receive a tremendous education when they visit the base."

Other civic leader outreach programs scheduled for this year include the cities of Peru, Logansport and Wabash.
