Winter arrives at Grissom

  • Published
Winter arrived at Grissom ARB in the form of snow, bone-chilling temperatures and gusty winds as a snowstorm roared through the Midwest region. However, the weather did not stop the dedicated men and women of the base from performing their duties, including raising the American flag at the base flag pole.

Grissom ARB is one of only five Air Force Reserve Command bases in the nation and is home to Air Force Reserve, Army Reserve and Marine Corps Reserve units.  The host unit, the 434th Air Refueling Wing, is equipped with KC-135R Stratotanker aircraft and plays an import role in the Air Force's aerial refueling mission.
