  • Published
Air Force officials are soliciting nominations for the 56th Annual Department of Defense Distinguished Civilian Service Award.

The award is the highest given by the Secretary of Defense to career employees. The award recognizes career employees at all levels for their exceptional achievement, and honors performance characterized by extraordinary, notable or prestigious contributions that impact the department as a whole.

Each major command, field operating agency and direct reporting unit may nominate only one person.

Organizations and base-level personnel must contact their MAJCOM, FOA or DRU for applicable suspense dates and additional information regarding nomination procedures.

Completed nomination packages must be sent to the Air Force Personnel Center by March 15, 2011.

For more information on this and other Air Force recognition programs, visit the Air Force Personnel Services website at http://gum.afpc.randolph.af.mil or call the Total Force Service Center at 800-525-0102.
