Brad Dolak, a new fitness contractor, will begin offering two different classes starting January 8.

The first class is a beginner strength and conditioning class slated for Tuesdays and Thursday at 3:15 p.m. starting Jan. 9.

The class is designed for individuals with little or no experience in overall fitness training, and who are free of major pain issues that restrict their ability to perform basic bodyweight movements such as squats, lunges, hip hinges, push-ups and rows.

“This class is designed for those who have never been taught, in detail, basic human movement,” Dolak said. “The initial focus will be directed toward mastering basic movements, improving mobility restrictions, core function and overall conditioning levels.

As movements are learned Dolak hopes to help people improve their general strength.

For those who already have experience Dolak will offer an intermediate strength and conditioning program at noon on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays beginning January 8.

“This class is for those who have previous experience with weight training and are free of major joint issues or cardiovascular disease,” he said.

This class is not for beginners.

“This is more of a true, longitudinal strength and conditioning program than it is a class,” Dolak explained.

The program will start with movement, power, strength, local muscular endurance and conditioning pretesting for baseline numbers.

Participants will then be taught the proper lifting form in the classic and Olympic lifts.

Following the training, each participant will begin with a periodized strength and conditioning program tailored to meet their specific needs based on movement quality and strength, Dolak said.

While new to the area, Dolak’s resume includes training high-level Division I athletes and military Special Forces operators as a licensed exercise physiologist.

“I’ve worked with all ends of the fitness spectrum, from the most novice to highly developed athletes,” Dolak said. “I want to help people reach their fitness goals – whatever they may be, in a relaxed and safe environment focused on good form and technique.”
