The Grissom Airman and Family Readiness Center is accepting donations for their annual food drive until the Saturday of the December unit training assembly.

Tech. Sgt. Charlene Howard, 434th Force Support Squadron A&FRC technician, said they are primarily looking for non-perishable canned or boxed foods.

“We are looking for canned fruits and vegetables and boxed pasta or dinners.” said Howard. “Right now we aren’t taking anything that might go bad, so no meat or fresh food.”

They are also looking for the names of Airmen whose families could benefit from the annual Angel Tree gift donations. Anyone knowing Airman that might be in need of help during the holiday season should submit names to the A&FRC.

Howard said that all names should be submitted no later than November 5.

“On November 5 we will begin distributing the names, with a list of recommended gifts, to anyone interested.” she said. “People are welcome to stop by and take a name from the tree before that if they want.”

Angel Tree gifts and food donations will be distributed to Airmen beginning on the primary December UTA.

The A&FRC is also accepting monetary donations from anyone who would find that easier.
