Whether cold or hot temperatures outdoors, vehicle safety is important as ever, and checking the little things can prevent big problems.

Members of the 434th Civil Engineer Squadron conducted free vehicle safety inspections during the unit training assembly, Aug. 5 at Grissom Air Reserve Base, Indiana.

“It’s important to know how to efficiently check your vehicle to ensure safety,” said Tech. Sgt. Joseph Main, 434th Civil Engineer Squadron power production non-commissioned officer in charge, as he inspected vehicles.

Main checked tire pressure, made pressure adjustments as needed and looked under the hood to check fluid levels and point out any potential problems for anyone who stopped by the CE building.

To carry it a bit further, he educated drivers on how to run through a checklist themselves.

The 434th ARW is the largest KC-135R Stratotanker unit in the Air Force Reserve Command. Men and women from the Hoosier Wing routinely deploy around the world in support of the Air Force mission.
