A&FR offers free AF Ball dresses Published Aug. 9, 2017 By Senior Airman Cali Wetli 434th ARW Public Affairs GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind. -- Grissom’s Airman and Family Readiness Center is giving away free dresses to individuals attending the Air Force Ball Sept. 23. A variety of different sized dresses are available on a first-come basis while supplies last. The ball gowns range from gently used to brand new, due to generous donations made. Over half of the dresses have never been worn. “This is a great opportunity to come get a dress,” said Tech. Sgt. Soyica Stanfield, Airman and Family Readiness technician. “There are dresses in every size, style and color. There are both long and short ball gowns, and some even have matching shoes! “If anyone wants, needs or even wants to come look at dresses, feel free to stop in anytime.” Stanfield added. The Air Force Ball will be held at the Kokomo Event Center Sept. 23. “We are working hard to make this a great event!” said Col. Larry Shaw, 434th Air Refueling Wing commander. “We hope to foster camaraderie and celebrate our Air Force heritage.” The uniform for the day includes; mess dress for officers, mess dress or semi-formal for enlisted and formal for civilians.
