Flyin' around the flag pole

A giant C-5 Galaxy cargo aircraft assigned to the 445th Airlift Wing, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, passes over Grissom recently. The airlifter's crews were "shooting approaches" for training where they practice lining the aircraft up for different types of landings. The C-5 is one of the largest aircraft in the world and the largest airlifter in the Air Force inventory. The C-5 can carry more cargo than any other airlifter. Although C-5 aircraft are almost 40 years old they continue to play a key role in strategic airlift for the nation. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Chris Bolen)
