In the belly of the beast

GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind. -- Bill Dixon, Grissom Fire Department assistant fire chief, shows Rocky Walls the inside of an aircraft fire simulator here Oct. 14. Walls, along with Grissom's other honorary commanders, visited the base to learn more about the 434th Mission Support Group. The simulator is used by the GFD and other local fire departments to train for an actual aircraft fire. The honorary commander program at Grissom is just one of several community outreach programs aimed at educating the public about Grissom's mission and impact on the community.
