  • Published
During a recent commander's call held here Aug. 8, representatives from safety, services and public affairs briefed members of the 434th Air Refueling Wing.

First up was Lt. Col. Miles Heaslip, 434th ARW chief of safety, who discussed automobile safety, reminding everyone to be alert.

Next was Vickie Butte, 434th Services director, who briefed servicemembers on the upcoming Family Day picnic to be held during the September unit training assembly.

Then, Lt. Col. Gary Lockard, 434th ARW chief of public affairs unveiled a new employer award certificate, which is a way for reservists to thank their employers for support of their military service and will be personally signed by both the reservist and Col. William T. "Tim" Cahoon, 434th ARW commander.

Chief Master Sgt. Larry Brady wrapped up the group of presenters as he spoke with Airmen about leadership. He also encouraged those with a bachelor's degree to apply for the Deserving Airman program here.

The Deserving Airman program is a way for enlisted Airmen with bachelor's degrees to be selected for officer training school.
