GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind. -- Col. Larry Shaw, 434th Air Refueling Wing commander, hosted a commander's call during the unit training assembly, Feb. 9, 2019.
During the all-call, Shaw reviewed Grissom’s mission and vision, as well as his expectations for the busy year in regards to exercises, inspections and the Grissom Air & Space Expo.
Shaw recognized the Key Spouses Group and quarterly award winners while congratulating the base for the 4th Air Force Raincross trophy.
“Commander’s calls are important,” Shaw said. “It’s my opportunity to communicate directly to wing members about things that are important to us, and lets us recognize key achievements.”
Attendees also heard a cold-weather safety briefing from the wing safety office and a firearm briefing from security forces.
The 434th ARW is the largest KC-135R Stratotanker unit in the Air Force Reserve Command. The Citizen Airmen from the Hoosier Wing routinely deploy around the world in support of the Air Force mission.
