GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind. -- Eleven members of the 434th Air Refueling Wing were recently presented with Meritorious Service Medals. President Lyndon Johnson established the MSM by Executive Order 11448 on Jan. 16, 1969, as the counterpart of the Bronze Star Medal for the recognition of meritorious noncombatant service. 1/23/2011 - GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind. -- Eleven members of the 434th Air Refueling Wing were recently presented with Meritorious Service Medals.
President Lyndon Johnson established the MSM by Executive Order 11448 on Jan. 16, 1969, as the counterpart of the Bronze Star Medal for the recognition of meritorious noncombatant service.
Those receiving the MSM are listed below:

- Chief Master Sgt. Michael Bowden, 434th CES
- Chief Master Sgt. Kevin Cassidy, 434th Maintenance Group
- Chief Master Sgt. Diana Rogers, 434th MXG
- Chief Master Sgt. Tony Fansler, 434th Operations Group
- Chief Master Sgt. James Owens, 434th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron
- Senior Master Sgt. Steven Burton, 434th CES
- Senior Master Sgt. David M. Duch, 434th CES
- Senior Master Sgt. Kevin Johnson, 434th CES
- Master Sgt. Steven Austin, 434th Maintenance Operations Flight
- Master Sgt. Edward Lampa, 434th Aerospace Medicine Squadron
The 434th Air Refueling Wing is the largest KC-135R Stratotanker unit in the Air Force Reserve Command. Grissom aircraft and reservists routinely deploy around the world supporting the Air Force mission.
