Chaplain (Col.) Randy Marshall, Air Force Reserve Command deputy command chaplain, visited Grissom during the September unit training assembly.

Marshall came to Grissom as part of an outreach program from the command chaplain’s office designed to allow for a more personal look at operations at AFRC bases.

“We dedicate one weekend each month to visiting a different reserve base,” said Marshall. “It gives us a chance to lay eyes on various units and hear from Airmen first-hand. Our number one desire in the chaplain corps is to take care of the Airmen.”

Chief Master Sgt. Chiquita Wilson, USAF Chaplain Corps College individual mobilization augmentee to the command chaplain assistant functional manager, agreed with Marshall on the importance of being able to visit units and speak directly with Airmen throughout AFRC.

“It’s a really great opportunity for us to see how our Airmen are doing and to build our public relations,” said Wilson.

After visiting with multiple units at Grissom, both Marshall and Wilson said that they were impressed with the Airmen and the work ethic they saw.

“The level of dedication that I’ve seen here is wonderful,” said Marshall. “It’s nice to see such strong bonds among the Airmen.”

“This is an amazing base, I can see so many strong bonds among the Airmen,” said Wilson. “Just being here for a few days I can sense the comraderie and friendship.”
