Toys for Tots golf tournament

GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind --  The Marine Corps Reserve unit at Grissom ARB is sponsoring a golf outing on Aug. 12 at the Chippendale Golf Course in Kokomo, Ind., in support of the Toys for Tots program.

The four-person best ball tournament begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Cost is $200 per team.

This will mark the 59th year for the program which is sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps and provides toys for needy children during the Christmas season. Money raised during the golf outing will be used to purchase toys later this year.

Last year, the Marines at Grissom ARB collected approximately 10,000 toys and distributed them to children in the Howard, Cass, Miami, Grant, White and Fulton counties.
