Washingtons Birthday

GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind. -- Grissom celebrates Washington's Birthday Feb. 21. Though sometimes referred to as Presidents Day, the official declaration made by Congress refers to the day as Washington's Birthday. Each year since 1862, as many federal government employees get the day off, the U.S. Senate gathers to hear a reading of George Washington's Farewell Address on or near the first U.S. President's birthday.
