Developing Self: Airman’s Foundational Competencies
The Air Force has identified 24 Airman’s foundational competencies for all Airmen, these competencies are universally applicable to all Airmen and are categorized into four groups: Developing Self, Developing Others, Developing Ideas and Developing Organizations. Developing Self includes the following foundational competencies: accountability, perseverance, communication, decision making, information seeking, flexibility, resilience, initiative, and self-control.

Air Force to allow longer braids, ponytails, bangs for women
Beginning in February 2021, female Airmen will be able to wear their hair in up to two braids or a single ponytail with bulk not exceeding the width of the head and length not extending below a horizontal line running between the top of each sleeve inseam at the under arm through the shoulder blades. EPME Distance Learning
The Thomas N. Barnes Center for Enlisted Education is releasing a new distance learning version of the Airman Leadership School course, ALS DLC 2.0, scheduled for Nov. 30, 2020. Updates to the Long distance versions of Enlisted Professional Military Education are being made to offer increased flexibility. LRS NCO of the year

DoD Directs Stop Movement in response to COVID-19
The Department of Defense issued a stop movement of all personnel to, from or through Centers for Disease Control and Prevention designated Level 3 COVID-19 locations effective March 13 and for the next 60 days. Mission and Vision
Leaders work to set a course for success, and for two days in February, Grissom leadership met to define the future of the 434th Air Refueling Wing. Commanders, chiefs, first sergeants and senior leaders met Feb. 6-7 in a strategic alignment session to outline the priorities in the wing’s mission and vision.
