Lt. Col. Todd R. Moody is the interim commander of the 434th Operations Group, Grissom Air Reserve Base, Indiana. He is responsible for the day-to-day operational training and overall management of two KC-135R Stratotanker squadrons operating 16 aircraft and an operations support squadron. The 434th OG also has a unique role supporting both the Single Integrated Operational Plan and conventional tanker missions.
Moody received his commission through the Air Force Academy in 1986 after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics. He entered pilot training at Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi, and was assigned to the 305th Air Refueling Wing, Grissom. He transferred to the Air Force Reserve in 1999, where he flew KC-135s and has held assignments to include instructor pilot, chief pilot, chief of current operations, chief of mission development, squadron commander, deputy group commander and group commander. He is a command pilot with more than 5,700 flying hours and has deployed in support of Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Allied Force, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, among others.
